We’re thrilled to invite passionate students to become a part of the High Sierra AHEC Student Ambassador Program. This program offers an exciting opportunity to engage with the community, develop leadership skills, and be a part of a mission to transform healthcare.

Please be sure to upload your resume and your cover letter as part of your submission. Once your application is received and reviewed, a member of the High Sierra AHEC team will contact you via email if you are selected for an interview.
If selected, you will be invited for a personal interview, where we can learn more about your aspirations and why you’re a great fit for the program. If you're accepted, you'll be asked to sign the AHEC Offer of Ambassadorship, officially beginning your exciting journey as a Student Ambassador with High Sierra AHEC. Student Ambassadors Commitment
As a Student Ambassador, you’ll play a key role in representing High Sierra AHEC and supporting our mission to improve healthcare access across Nevada. This is your chance to make a real difference, build your skills, and be part of a community dedicated to transforming healthcare. To ensure a successful experience, ambassadors are expected to meet the following commitments:

Engage & Network
Attend at least two meetings per semester to stay involved, share ideas, and connect with healthcare professionals and peers. As a Student Ambassador, you'll also become a voice behind our mission, helping to spread awareness of our work and share our impact within your community.
Plan a Major Healthcare Event
Become an integral part of the Pre-Professional Healthcare Summit committee, where you’ll collaborate with peers and professionals to design and execute an event that not only inspires future healthcare leaders but also offers valuable hands-on experience in event planning, teamwork, and community engagement.
Stay Connected
Keep in touch with the program coordinator and your committee lead to stay informed and maximize your impact. Plus, you’ll have access to mentorship and scholarship opportunities to further support your educational journey.
Make a Difference
Complete 20 service hours per semester, gaining hands-on experience that will strengthen your resume and help your community. Additionally, implement High Sierra AHEC’s K-12 programs at schools and community-based sites, bringing healthcare education and career exploration to the next generation.
Be a Changemaker
Show your dedication to improving healthcare in Nevada and become a leader in the movement for better access and equity.
