Activities / Experiments

Participants will be introduced to the key disciplines of forensic science essential for solving their case during CSI Camp. They will gain practical knowledge on how to apply various investigative techniques to uncover critical clues.

Skills covered will include fingerprint identification, where they will learn to lift and analyze prints, as well as bloodstain pattern analysis, which helps determine the events leading to a crime.

Through this engaging, hands-on experience, participants will develop a solid foundation in forensic investigation.

Dactyloscopy

Participants will be introduced to the fascinating world of dactyloscopy—the study of fingerprints. They will explore key concepts such as "whorl," "ulnar," and "loop" patterns, gaining a deeper understanding of fingerprint classification.

After the lesson, campers will have the exciting opportunity to identify their own unique fingerprints. Finally, they will put their new skills to the test by analyzing evidence and determining whose fingerprints were discovered at the scene of the crime!

Serological Tests

Campers will dive into the intriguing world of forensic blood analysis, learning how to identify different blood types and interpret bloodstain patterns. Through an engaging lesson, they will gain insight into the science behind blood evidence and its role in crime scene investigations.

Following the lesson, they’ll apply their knowledge by conducting a hands-on bloodstain experiment. Using forensic techniques, they will analyze the blood samples of various suspects to determine which blood type matches the one found at the crime scene.
