Nevada Cultural Competency Program Overview

Nevada Cultural Competency is a pre-approved third provider by the Nevada Department of Public and Behavioral Health. Since its inception in 2021, Nevada Cultural Competency has worked to create and provide comprehensive training to medical practitioners, public health professionals, and CBOs in a variety of training formats to foster humility and proactive quality care for patients in Nevada.

Regardless of the training format, our courses are interactive, comprehensive, and taught by knowledgeable professionals working to bridge gaps in healthcare access in our communities.

Please note all Nevada-licensed health facilities must provide cultural competency training biennially and within 90 days of hire for certain caregiving staff that are not exempted by the statutory requirements of NRS 449.103. Nevada Cultural Competency Objectives

Since our inception in 2021, NVCC’s training initiatives have been actively advancing Nevada’s Cultural Competency Objectives. Through engaging, accessible programming, we have:

Consultations

Nevada Cultural Competency provides consultations to healthcare facilities and community-based organizations interested in cultivating and improving humility in their respective environments. Please email info@nvculturalcompetency.com to schedule a meeting to discuss your consultation needs.

Train the Trainer

Facilities can license our copyrighted materials annually and receive direct training from our staff so that required training can be completed and maintained within their own organization. We recommend this option for facilities with 90 or more employees.

Train the Trainer costs $5,700 and includes payment for live training for 1 participant, access to self-paced program components for 1 participant, and 1 year licensing of materials for training within the facility.

Additional trainer registrations costs $500 each.
