HRSA Rural Health Development Grant: SGM

High Sierra AHEC is thrilled to announce that it has received funding from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) to establish a healthcare network aimed at improving and expanding care for Sex and Gender Minorities, an underserved population within Nevada’s rural communities. To achieve this, we will conduct a comprehensive needs assessment by visiting rural areas and collaborating with local physicians, social workers, and healthcare providers to identify gaps in care and develop strategies for improvement. In addition, we are committed to educating providers in these regions, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the unique healthcare needs of Sex and Gender Minorities. This project will run from September 30th, 2024 to September 29th, 2025.
